DIY yacht self steering system (wind vane) on Cal34
This is our self steering system. We build that piece of equipment last winter… works really good. It’s very simple and bullet proof. The wind turn the vane which turn the trim tab which turn the auxiliary rudder we built and installed. Works on every point of sail. It’s not finished yet, we still need to install a tiller on the auxiliary rudder.

Your auxiliary rudder looks great! Nice work.
Sorry no plans, but if you can find Bernard Moitessier’s book, The long Way, There is pretty good sketches and all the principles are explained. Good Luck
Do you have any plan of what you have done?
