Meet Michael Mertel, Training Manager for the MailBox Stores!

Hello! My name is Michael Mertel, and I am The Training Manager here at The Mailbox Store’s Headquarters in Las Vegas Nevada. I have over 10 years in retail-most of it spent in training positions. I’ve held the positions of Store Manager, Training Manager, and retail store General Manager for a franchisee for high-profile companies such as The UPS Store and the Ritz Camera Corporation. Over the years, I have managed multiple store locations, ranging from small 1 man operations to half-a-million-dollar store fronts in major malls. Then, I joined The Mailbox Store as new store trainer, a position I truly enjoy because I like educating people . When you come to visit me at The Mailbox Store’s training center in Las Vegas, I will train you on the exact same systems that you will have in your store. We have an in-depth 3-day training curriculum designed to familiarize you with your Point-of-Sale and Shipping Programs. From day one you will be given access to your own assigned computer station just like the one in your store, to practice on and apply what you are learning. The first day we will focus on shipping and Core Store services such as: Becoming a Commercial Mail Receiving Agent; Mailboxes services, Packaging guidelines, Printing; and additional services. Day two topics will focus on the Point-of-Sale or POS system. We will be discussing: Register functions; Entering customer data, Mailbox Manager; using Mail Master, and generating reports.
